What is Vertical Talus?
It is an extremely rare form of deformity of the foot which is seen at the time of birth. The wrong position of the talus bone causes this condition and it is one of the causes of flatfoot in newborns. The condition may affect one foot or both the feet. It is not a painful condition and may not cause any discomfort in the newborn. However, if left untreated, vertical talus has the potential to cause serious disabilities and discomfort later in life.
