Cytomegalovirus is a viral disease caused by cytomegalovirus. It does not show any symptoms in affected patients, and the body produces antibodies to fight the virus. Thus, the CMV test is performed to determine the number of IgG antibodies. The positive test result means that the patient has the IgG antibodies of the CMV virus in the body and has been affected by the virus in the past.
