A Comprehensive Overview of Stroke
A stroke is a life-threatening condition that occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures or gets blocked, which causes an inadequate oxygen supply to the brain. In both cases, the brain is bound to suffer lasting damage, which may even lead to disability or death. Immediate treatment is required for stroke, as any delay can pose serious complications for the patient’s health.
Strokes are of two types: ischemic strokes and hemorrhagic strokes. A block in the blood vessels of the brain causes ischemic stroke, and bleeding due to the rupture of blood vessels leads to hemorrhagic stroke.
