Your body’s cells are invaded by viruses, which then use the cells’ components to aid in their own multiplication. Infected cells are frequently damaged or destroyed during this process. Any illness or medical condition brought on by a virus is referred to as a viral disease. 
Although many viral diseases are contagious, not all viral diseases are contagious, meaning they don’t always spread from person to person. The flu, the common cold, HIV, and herpes are examples of contagious viral diseases.
