Sinusitis is a condition characterised by inflammation or infection of the sinuses, which are air-filled cavities located in the facial bones around the nose and eyes. In cases of acute sinusitis, which lasts for less than four weeks, treatment options often include over-the-counter pain relievers, saline nasal irrigation, and nasal decongestants to alleviate congestion and reduce inflammation.
If symptoms persist or become chronic (lasting more than 12 weeks), a healthcare professional may prescribe antibiotics to treat any bacterial infection. In some instances, surgical intervention, such as endoscopic sinus surgery, may be considered to remove blockages or correct structural abnormalities that contribute to sinusitis.
Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) is a hormonal disorder that affects women of reproductive age. Some of the commonly reported signs and symptoms of PCOD include acne, darkening of the skin, hirsutism (abnormal growth of hair on the face and body), an irregular menstrual cycle, hair thinning, and weight gain. Treatment focuses on managing underlying issues, primarily through medications or lifestyle changes.
Miss. Tanushree Banerjee from Jharkhand successfully received treatment for Sinusitis and PCOD at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr. D Ragotham Reddy, Consultant Pulmonologist.
