Hip osteoarthritis is a disorder in which the protective joint space between the bones gradually narrows due to the cartilage in the hip joint eroding away over time and becoming frayed and rough.
Total hip replacement surgery is used to treat hip osteoarthritis in order to lessen pain and suffering, restore functions, and enhance the overall quality of life. The worn-out bones and cartilage are removed during a hip replacement and replaced with prosthetic parts.
The patient is kept in the hospital for another 4 to 5 days. The patient’s recuperation time might range from two to four weeks depending on a number of variables, including age, nutrition, underlying medical issues, and other lifestyle factors.
Mr. Joseph Gonet from Nigeria, underwent Total Hip Replacement, under the supervision of Dr. Kirthi Paladugu, Senior Consultant Robotic Joint Replacement & Arthroscopy Surgeon (Sports Medicine) & Minimally Invasive Trauma, Foot & Ankle Surgeon, Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad.
