Ischemic stroke occurs when a blood clot blocks a blood vessel in the brain, preventing the blood from flowing to the brain. Thrombolysis is a process in which drugs are used to dissolve blood clots. Mechanical thrombectomy is a type of minimally-invasive technique in which an interventional radiologist uses specialized equipment such as fluoroscopy, or continuous x-ray to remove a clot from a patient’s artery.
Mrs. M. Chandramouli from Hyderabad successfully underwent Thrombolysis followed by Mechanical Thrombectomy at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr. Bharath Kumar Surisetti, Consultant Neurologist and Dr. Laxmikanth Jella, Consultant Interventional & Neuroradiologist.
